We'll amazingly...I have internet out here in the bush in the middle of nowhere. We broke for lunch and thought I'd try to update some pics from this morning. It's been a beautiful day!! The kids have been such a joy to be around. We actually got to interview on camera about 20 and to hear some of their stories...WOW!
Below is the school building they're in currently:
as you can tell, it's open on the bottom allowing all sorts of water to flood in, not to mention animals....the kids have continued to get sick because of the disease the sitting water causes.
Anyway...here's the new school building you guys have been able to provide the funds to build:
We are currently funding the next one as well. Once the second one is complete, they'll be able to move all the kids over.
I continue to tell people how Mac's help bring joy. Here's proof.
There's a built in video camera and a program that makes funny distortions of people's faces. They LOVED IT!!!
Here's one class of kids, learning English, that were more than happy to pose for the camera!
Couple other things...Greg is off trying to fix the clean water source. Greg is the man. He can fix anything. I think he is loving life building and fixing things in the bush of Africa. Plus...okay...this rocks. The kids here have maybe one or two books per subject, per class. So, they have to wait and wait and wait and then share books. You can see how that would limit learning and extend the day quite a bit. Come to find out that's not uncommon in Kenya. No school in the entire region has books for every student. So, we asked the headmaster, what would it take to buy every kid their own textbooks. Cause I mean after all...education is key to resurrecting hope and equipping these kids for the future!!
Well, he took some time...figured it all out...and sheepishly said, "about $2500." Now, let me tell you what a great moment it was to say on behalf of our church...DONE. I think they thought we were joking. But, we weren't. So, we just sent them off to the nearest town about an hour away to go get them. AWESOME!!!! That's why we as a church set aside 10% of everything that comes in...just for moments like that...that make huge impacts in the areas we're strategically focused on.
More to come later, but while I had a break....I thought i'd let you know how the morning was going. Crosspointe...thanks so much for your faithfulness in giving. It is making such a tremendous difference in the lives of these kids. The buildings, the education, the food you provide...God is using you to help ressurect hope and joy and futures. Thank You!!

Thank you for showing us very tangible evidence of how our giving is affecting lives. Powerful stuff.
