Just a reminder to everyone in the Triangle that HENRYPALOOZA Part 1 is this Saturday, the 27th, with an awesome event with all donations going to helping the Claybrooks (stephen is the worship pastor at Crosspointe) to help bring their son, Henry, home from China in a few weeks. I explained some of their unique challenges here. This coming Saturday there is an outdoor, family friendly event from 12 noon till 5 pm. The afternoon will feature live music, face painting, booths from local merchants, games, rides, raffles, auctions and food. (raffles include things like a motorized scooter, diamond earrings, guitar, day spa packages, bikes, etc....I was drooling over one of the items being auctioned today...a USA Olympic Baseball Team Autographed Bat...SWEET!). It takes place at the VIllage Square Shopping Center. Click here for directions. Hope to see tons of you of there!
HENRYPALOOZA Part 2 features an INCREDIBLE concert by Mindy Smith on October 4th at 8 pm. I've had Mindy's music featured on my blog for a while and it's on regular rotation in our home. I saw her live at the House of Blues in Chicago a few years ago and it was AWESOME.
A little more of a bio on Mindy...
She's appeared on Leno twice, Conan, the CBS Morning Show, as well as having her songs featured on tv shows like Smallville and Grey's Anatomy. She was awarded the Emergent Artist of the Year and the Americana Music Awards and has worked with artists like Allison Krause, Amy Grant, and Dolly Parton. The NY times called her Christmas record she released last year "the best record of the season." In short, she's REALLY good.
AND...
She's offered to come perform a benefit concert to help bring Henry home donating all of the ticket sales toward that effort. So, your $12 ticket not only provides you with a GREAT concert, it helps an amazing family bring their son, Henry, home.
So, you may wonder, how does Mindy even know about Henry and be willing to come to Cary for a benefit concert? Well, it helps when her brother is a pastor at Crosspointe.
Advertising for this concert is a complete grass roots effort. So, feel free to forward this post to as many people as possible in the Triangle area. Secondly, go ahead and purchase your $12 tickets by clicking here and using the provided links to the Mindy Smith concert and Paypal. Your printed receipt serves as your ticket.

Excellent!!!!!!
I first heard Mindy on the radio, maybe 3 years ago and went right home and ordered the CD (One Moment More CD). For years now, several times a week, I've been playing the CD as I've fallen off to sleep. Her voice is so soothing, smooth and dynamic, I never seem to get tired of listening. What a small world and we're very fortunate to have Mindy Smith as a guest!!
