1. Caden's first t-ball game of the Fall was Saturday morning. Really proud of my team. In the first inning, 9 batters came up for the other team, and our team recorded 7 outs (everybody hits every inning). 1 out is a rarity in t-ball, so it was a pretty impressive display that left most of us dumbfounded.
2. My favorite moment though was one little boy on our team who has autism, caught his first ball. I ran out to pick him up and celebrate with him. He was SO thrilled. Made my day.
3. Spent the afternoon packing up the upstairs for the carpet replacement this week after the "toilet induced flood" and painting over the subsequent stains on the ceiling before heading out later in the afternoon to finish preparing the teaching for Sunday. We move all the furniture out this evening.
4. Sunday was another big day. Really appreciate the "KidSpace Crew" kicking off each service. That might have been the first hip hop performance in
Crosspointe history. Loved it. We have some seriously gifted and impressive high school students who are incredibly passionate about Jesus.
5. I love
Stephen's intentionality in developing other leaders and giving them opportunities to lead. Spencer, one of our high school students, knocked it out the park leading us through a new song.
6.
KidSpace was, once again, CRAZY! In a good way. And hot. Tons of new faces. We counted over 650 parents and kids packed in the auditorium for the main program. One visitor asked which city "the show" was stopping at next. He was so impressed he assumed everyone were professional actors and musicians. He has surprisingly shocked to find out that's just how our children's ministry rolls.
7. Thanks SO much to everyone who worked so hard to pull off another amazing event!
8. Lots of good conversations about the series of teachings we've been going through. I love how our community loves having her paradigms challenged and rattled by God's Word...even when it affects our politics.
9. I pretty much collapsed when I got home, but my energy suddenly came back when I saw
what was going on with the Cubs game. A No-Hitter! First Cubs no-hitter in my lifetime. I'm telling you...this
could be the year. Anything can happen on the 100 year anniversary of futility.
Love our church. SO unique and alive. Thank you for asking us all to THINK! And about Stephen ... never have seen such open-handed leadership. That goes for the whole bunch of you. Amazingly Christlike.
One thing good that has come from hurricane Ike... REST for Big Z and the boys. This could be it ... my shirt's getting worn out.

Wow....what an amazing, knock-your-socks-off group of high school students!!! The opening number was outstanding!! And the teen worship band did a phenomenal job. What talent! The new song was a real keeper and kudos for the talented Spencer! We had out of state visitors with us Sunday morning and they were just totally blown away at the service. The sermon was superb. What a Sunday!!

This weekend was AWESOME at Crosspointe. Our kids LOVED the singing and dancing of the high school students. Thanks to them for being a morale compass for our younger children and showing them how cool it is to rock it out at church!!!!
